Recent changes made to how membership holds are handled within GymMaster

The accounts tab of the member profile change has seen an update to how it displays holds so that it doesn’t retroactively alter historic financial records.

Previously, if a hold was retroactively entered into the system, GymMaster would change the financial details of past membership charges. This raises a number of issues when it comes to the accuracy of reporting and accounting practices. To address these issues, the new accounting rules mean the system will instead use credit notes to adjust the charge as of today (refer to images 1 & 2).

Recent Changes Made to GymMaster’s Shared Memberships

Shared memberships allow one membership to be shared between multiple members. For example, this means your club may charge a set rate for a family to join without setting up individual memberships and allowing multiple secondary members to gain its benefits.

If your club has been using shared memberships, there has recently been a few changes made to how GymMaster handles these. Introducing the New Accounts Tab

Introducing the new and improved member accounts tab. This update makes it easier for you to identify which charges your member’s incoming payments are clearing at a glance.

You can find this tab by opening GymMaster, clicking “find member”, choosing a member and then clicking the “accounts” tab at the top of the members page.

Feature Spotlight: Related Payments under Account History

It’s now even easier to identify which payment is associated with each charge on our Member Accounts Tab:

When you scroll down the page to the account history, you can hover your mouse over a payment and the charge to which it is related will have a shadowed area on the left:

This means you can easily identify the payments that have been received, and the purchases to which they are related.
