GymMaster’s Gatekeeper is an essential part of the hardware setup for 24/7 access.

What is the Gatekeeper?

The Gatekeeper is the door controller that has been developed by GymMaster to be used for controlling access to your gym. It has been designed to create the least amount of hassle when it comes to checking your members in for bookings, and determining whether a member is allowed access outside of the opening times for the 24/7 access.

Recent improvements

With the newly released Gatekeeper H, we have improved the Gatekeeper to keep a subset of the database that will periodically update it’s internal database. Because the new Gatekeepers are relying on an internal database, the Gatekeeper is able to correctly make decisions on whether the a person can gain access to the gym without being connected to the internet for a significant time period.

What does this mean?

It means that in the event of a power, network or internet failure, then your members are still able to access your gym. Provided your Gatekeeper is paired with the new serial reader as well as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that’s connected to the readers, door looks and any additional access control equipment, the Gatekeeper will remember who is allowed access to your facility as long as the battery is running.
