Class & Booking Pack vs. Club Visit Pack
A Concession Pack is a casual membership option; it is paid up front for a fixed number of visits, classes or sessions. This is GymMaster’s modern take on the old-school punch card. When creating a new membership type, packs can be selected under the Membership Basis.

Class & Booking Pack
This type of pack is designed for members purchasing a set number of classes and / or bookable services.
- A visit is counted when the member is checked in to their booking
- When the member makes a booking, the use is reserved from their available pack balance. This prevents them from booking more sessions than they have available, even though the concession isn’t deducted until check-in
- If you want to allow members to book more sessions than their pack has left, go to Settings > Advanced Configuration > Bookings > Allow Concession Packs to be Overbooked
Note: If your facility isn’t using bookings, this type of pack won’t suit. Use a Club Visit Pack instead.
Club Visit Pack
This type of pack is designed for members purchasing a set number of visits to the facility.
- A concession is deducted each time the member records a facility visit
- Visits can be recorded using a key fob scan, manual check-in, or check-in through the Member App
- A booking check-in doesn’t use a Club Visit Pack. The member needs to have a facility visit recorded
Can I Use Both?
Not directly. GymMaster doesn’t currently support a pack that deducts a concession for both facility visits and bookings.
However, there is a workaround:
- Use a Club Visit Pack.
- Include the relevant classes or services as a benefit for the membership.
- Check the member in directly rather than checking them in to the booking.
GymMaster can be set to automatically check in the booking when the member enters the facility. Configure this at:
- Settings > Advanced Configuration > Bookings > Auto Check-in Time-frame
This setup works well when members normally enter the facility as part of their booking.
