If you wish to change a member’s billing cycle, like moving them from weekly to monthly, there are a few simple steps to follow.
Since a member’s billing cycle is tied directly to their membership type, you’ll need to set them up with a new membership that reflects the desired cycle.
1. Understand the Link Between Membership and Billing Cycle
A member’s billing cycle is locked to their membership type.
That means you can’t just change the cycle on their existing membership; instead, you need to move them onto a different membership type with the correct billing cycle.
2. Create the New Membership Type
Before you cancel anything, check if you already have a membership type with the correct billing cycle and benefits.
If not, here’s the best practice:
This way, you keep the original membership type intact for others who are still using it.
3. Cancel the Current Membership
Once your new membership type is ready, go to the member’s Membership tab and click Cancel next to their current membership.
4. Add the New Membership
After cancelling the current membership, add the new one to their account.
Make sure to select the membership type with the updated billing cycle and benefits.
